Strange cuisine

In Inari I had a fantastic lunch of cold soba noodles and tempura, which included fat juicy mushrooms, pumpkin and green chillis.

Oddly enough, out the front of most shops were barbecued sparrows impaled on sticks, as well as quail. I noticed an abundance of sparrows in Japan and many of them, it seems, end up on the barbie.
