Backstreets in Matsue
When cycling to my Japanese lesson, I often weave through narrow backstreets that are lined with traditional-style houses. Of course, I stumbled across a shrine in between two houses: a snug neighbour. Today, a light, feathery snow has fallen. Apparently in Shimane, heavy snow is always guaranteed on Setsubun; perhaps it is the demon's small revenge for being cast out. Anyway, here are some snaps from my locale.
